Taking a chance

Seven years ago I took a chance.
I closed my eyes, I felt the teeter totter, took a deep breath and I leapt.
Where it took me?
To this man.
How our paths came to be I will always wonder and delight in amazement and gratefulness.
Words cannot express or do justice for how I feel about this man, about us, about our life we are choosing to live.

The Why

This man, oh my this man I love...

I don't know how we could have found each other on our own when we did as it was truly divinely orchestrated.
There is so much peace in that.
I am so grateful we both listened to our hearts, followed our dreams each separately
journeying closer to each other from thousands of miles apart.

One of the things I so love and appreciate the most about this man is that when it comes to me...
he understands "what" is important to me even though he may not understand the "why".

Thank you for always supporting me

Love is all around

Hearts have always found me, literally everywhere I go.
This photo was taken on a beach in Alaska. I was just walkin along, ready to put my camera away I stopped then I immediately felt this pull to look down to my feet.

This is what found me.

Flea Market project

I found this fabulous piece at a local flea market that I make sure to go to EVERY time they have em. The gal that was selling this piece practically begged me to take it off her hands, She had gotten in Mexico out of some old church. I think I paid $7.00 buckaroos for it!

So I have had it for a while now and I've been pondering what color to paint it..(it just had a plain stain on it before I painted it yellow.)then I stumbled upon these paints thanks to my madre. I was HOOKED! Yes these paints are pretty expensive but I have to say...once you try these beauties there will be no looking back! The wax is one part of it that really make the project shine!

See how it looks aged? That's the dark wax I used

I found these funky lil knobs at "Sweet Salvage" for $3.00!
I thought they would be a really good fit and they actually are :)

And Now for the grand finale...

Homemade lip gloss

Never again will you want to buy expensive lip gloss after you try this!

I bought this beeswax here &
you can fnd these essential oils here

When you melt the wax, be careful as it can get everywhere. You will want to buy a grater that will only be for the wax. (it will not wash off)
I also like using chop sticks as my tool for stirring the ingredients.

You will need
Two Tablespoons of grated beeswax
One Tablespoons of Coconut oil

One teaspoon of a good oil...here I used Walnut oil.

Place the beeswax, Walnut oil and coconut oil in a glass bowl over a double boiler and melt together.
If you would like a lil color add a hunk of your favorite color lipstick and for a lil extra shimmer add some white/pearl eye shadow. Once melted remove from the heat immediately as you don't want it to turn rancid.

I poured the concoction into a measuring cup that had a good spout...it makes it easier to poor into these cute lil lip gloss holders.

This would also be a good time to add your essential oils into the measuring cup and stir... The oils would burn off too fast if you placed it in the double boiler

Waalaaa!

I just made another batch with these ingredients...

*Blood Orange olive oil
*Orange Blossom water

DELISH!
